The researchers receive grants for their publications in leading scientific journals. By supporting academic progress, the aim is to strengthen research excellence in the field. This year, SEK 200,000 was awarded, divided among 15 grants.
The grant ceremony took place again this year at HETCH in Oceanhamnen. During the ceremony, Anders Rosberg, Executive Director of the Helsingborg Chamber of Commerce, began by explaining how the Chamber has supported both education and research at Campus Helsingborg over the years. Lena Eskilsson, Pro-Vice-Chancellor at Lund University, spoke about how the focus on trade and logistics has developed with Campus Helsingborg as its base, and how important the strong collaboration with the Trade Association and the City of Helsingborg is for the university. Christian Orsing, Chair of the Municipal Executive Board in Helsingborg, spoke about the positive future prospects for the area and the strong links to research at Campus Helsingborg.
This year, the following researchers were invited onto the stage to receive their scholarships: Joakim Kembro, Frida Eggert, Christian Fuentes, Andreas Norrman, Fredrik Nilsson, Carys Egan-Wyer, Chattraporn Chatthong, Diogo Figueirinhas, Yulia Vakulenko, Henrik Pålsson, Daniel Hellström, John Olsson, Sandeep Jagtap, Mikael Kervall, Patrik Stoopendahl. The ceremony concluded with the Trade Association presenting a donation to the Department of Fashion Studies at Campus Helsingborg to support education and facilitate a study trip.
The scholarship-winning research presented
Four of the scholarship recipients presented aspects of their research, and the audience learnt about everything from how robots are changing the way companies design their warehouses; how second-hand platforms can contribute to fast fashion; why insects as a source of protein are struggling to gain a foothold in Sweden; and how urban freight systems are managed in small and medium-sized towns.
